Abnormal Cerebrovascniar Network Related to the Occlusion of the Internal Carotid Arteries

Abstract
In recent years, many cases of so called cerebral rete mirabile have been reported in Japan and Korea.
The abnormal cerebrovascular network at the base of the brain could be shown by the carotid angiography and it seems to be related with the occulsion of the internal carotid arteries.
Since the authors have observed 4 cases of similar vascular abnormalities in Korean children recently by carotid angiography, the clinical findings and angiographic features of these cases were presented.
All of these had the episodes of convulsion and speech disturbance and/or unilateral weakness or paraplegia of extremities were developed in 3 cases. Age distributions of three. boys and one girl were 5, 12, 14 and 16 years old respectively.
